Professor John Northover retired from St Mark’s in May 2012. The Northover collection records some of his final contributions as a staff member to the life of the hospital.
This lecture traced the development of today’s operative procedures for rectal prolapse and went on to compare the relative pros and cons of today’s options; highlighting the lack of objective evidence to underpin these comparisons. Finally it oulined the results of the only large randomised trial to address these issues.
