Ms Renshaw is a general surgeon and a research fellow at St Mark’s, completing a PhD. Her work centres around improving our understanding of the risk of colon cancer in inflammatory bowel disease, in particular the risk associated with serrated lesions.
During her medical studies she graduated with a First from the University of Cambridge and a distinction in Clinical Sciences from University College London. She completed Foundation and Core Surgical Training in the London Deanery, during which her interest in medical education led her to complete a postgraduate certificate in clinical education at King’s College London. She worked abroad for the next five years, completing a General Surgery residency programme and has now returned to the UK to complete a PhD at St Mark’s. Her work centres around improving our understanding of cancer risk in inflammatory bowel disease, in particular the risk associated with serrated lesions of the colon, under the supervision of Dr Ana Wilson, Dr Andrew Latchford and Mr Phil Tozer.
